The annoying part is that I didn't really have any good heroes left to recruit as a lord. Then a single elf came out of her home, which was behind the dragon and totally ignored, and took him down in one shot. He had 48 HPs left, but I didn't see any heroes anywhere, and he and the many serpents were destroying the dwarf building. Suddenly lots of serpents appeared out of nowhere(and a few minotaurs) and Rafnir proceeded to destroy almost all of my city and kill almost all of my heroes. Then I destroyed Rafnir's lair(the advisor said something about him getting pissed off but I couldn't read at that speed), set a huge bounty on Rafnir and just spent the rest of my vast treasury on that ice spell. Once the map was clear and all the other lairs were gone, I destroyed the minotaurs and killed the ghosts. In town I just built two guardtowers and one dwarf tower. I built trading posts in every spot I found and upgraded them, but I didn't bother with towers next to them. Then I set the speed to 5x and built one of each building, recruited 3 of each hero and did all the researches. I started destroying serpent lairs with the Rogue and Ranger. I recruited a Rogue lord, a Ranger lord and a Wizard lord and did the Market upgrades. I just built a Marketplace and the Lord building first. Research everything at blacksmith, wizard's guild for enchanting and spells, magic bazaar for elixirs Wait for 30-40 days, expanding your kingdom with trading posts and more heroesġ1. This was the first hard quest so I thought I'd post my thoughts on it.ġ0. Obviously, I promoted my Dwarf as a noble. I spent 20000 on lightning bolts and ice cages trying to slow rafnir down. (Mind you everyone was fully upgraded with elixirs, masterwork items and enchantments) On this attempt, the dwarves were the sole survivors. Rafnir killed everyone at 5000/25000 hp and destroyed my castle. Now rafnir comes out, set a huge bounty and watch the mass deaths. Expect all heroes level 5 and under to die in the attempt. The advisor says not to destroy his lair, but he will just hide and heal if you don`t. Lone heroes won`t fight the ghosts, but en masse, it will be a slaughter. They only appear at your town in large numbers. The main opponents are minotaurs and winged serpents, both easily handled by guardtowers. You will need them later at levels 15+.īuild a few ballista towers around your town and establish trading posts with regular guard towers. Work on hunting down serpent lairs and building more guilds.ĪS SOON AS POSSIBLE, get dwarves. Going will prematurely trigger a huge minotaur invasion. As soon as you have the gold build a rangers guild.Īt some point the advisor will mention a witch. Immediately seek out and destroy the two nearby serpent lairs. Marketplace is your primary source of income. The inns are absolutely necesary as you can't keep expecting heroes to run back to guild to heal when chased by ranged enemies (40+ winged serpents). My strategy (after a dozen failed attempts) is to start with 2 inns, a marketplace, 2 warrior guilds and a cleric guild. He will appear periodically and do the same, occasionally wiping out your team of inexperienced heroes. Despite what the advisor says, Rafnir will appear at around day 2-3 and unleash blazing death on a area, usually your marketplace directly beneath your castle for 400 damage.
